Aman Parnami is a 2nd year Masters student in the Human-Computer Interaction program at the School of Interactive Computing, Georgia Institute of Technology. He also holds a Masters and Bachelors in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, India. His research interests are primarily Ubiquitous Computing (Ubicomp) and Natural User Interfaces (NUI). He is currently working with professors Gregory Abowd and Ali Mazalek for Ubicomp and NUI related research respectively. As part of the class projects and in his free time he has worked with interactive tabletop surfaces, sensors embedded on mobile devices and written mobile applications for Android. The Interactive Products course with Dr. Jim Budd has been instrumental in shaping his interest towards interactive technologies. He likes building interactive artifacts and utilizes prototyping and electric-circuit building facilities in his department towards that end. He wishes to get into a competitive PhD program to prepare him for a career in an industrial research facility like MSR.
He was born and brought up in Jaipur, popularly known as The Pink City of India. He received several accolades for his academic performance during school, where he liked the Science and Mathematics curriculum. Since childhood he has been active in outdoor sports and still plays Badminton in the Georgia Tech Badminton Club at CRC. His regular athletic pursuits include running and cycling. During his undergraduate he discovered his interest in dance and since then has been trained in Bharatnatyam, classical dance form of India, and Indo Jazz, a mix of Jazz, Ballet and Hip-Hop. He is a proponent of traditional pen-paper based methods of communication and is currently taking a foundational course in sketching to excel at it. In his leisure time, he puts his digital SLR camera to use while following tutorials from books and online resources. He likes to cook vegetarian food with his loving wife, who is a talented budding photographer, if permitted.

I like running, cycling, and am thrilled by trekking.
